Leading the charge in best in class building operations and sustainable practices it’s always good to be verified. What does that mean? Well, it means we pursue verifications like LEED in our landmark addresses to show you we’re operating sustainably. We’ve become BOMA 360 designated throughout all of Canada and many American locations to confirm that our building operations are top notch. And, most recently we’ve had our entire north American portfolio WELL Health Safety Rated™ to confirm that we’ve put your health and safety first during the unprecedented pandemic of 2020.

BOMA 360 designation
The BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association) 360 designation sets the bar for excellence in property management, operations, security, and corporate social responsibility. We were the first landlord to achieve the BOMA 360 designation in Canada and the only to certify all assets in that country. Additionally, 46 properties in the United Stated are designated as BOMA 360 buildings!
To underscore our commitment to the environment, Brookfield Properties has actively supported multiple LEED® rating systems within our portfolio. All properties have conducted LEED® Commercial Interiors (CI) screening, identifying opportunities where the base building at a property can contribute in whole and in part to applicable CI credits. Emphasizing the importance of the ongoing operation of our buildings to environmental performance, Brookfield Properties utilizes the LEED® for Building Operations and Maintenance: Existing Buildings rating system. To date, 89% of our North American portfolio is LEED® certified. Finally, with the future in mind, we have committed all new Brookfield Properties developments will be built to a LEED® Core and Shell Gold standard or better.
WELL Health-Safety Rating™
The WELL Health-Safety Rating™ was designed by hundreds of verified research and industry experts, the rating is a trusted mark, distinguishing organizations that have prioritized the creation of safer, healthier environments for all. A direct response to the global pandemic, 99% of our North American buildings have received the WELL Health-Safety Rating™.
The ENERGY STAR certification label lets you know a property is outperforming at least 75% of similar buildings when it comes to its energy consumption. Currently 41 of our properties in the United States are ENERGY STAR certified with an average score among them of 84.66%.
The GRESB Real Estate Assessment is the industry go-to for measuring ESG performance. We participate annually to see where we stand among estate portfolios across the globe.
